But Trey Songz got off on this song though. Like he is invited to play house with me ANYTIME. Him and Chris Brown. No Bullshyt. Hehe.
Day in The Life: Wake up at 10 listen to ipod in bed til 12. Eat, watch Pretty Little Liars, Laundry, Text, Tweet, Facebook. You know the business. Life is still boring, but lately it's been picking up ;-)
DePaul Tomorrow!!!! Slash interview. The only interview I've had ALL summer. I really need this for the school year, so keep me in your thoughts if you care enough to.
SN: I've been craving Zebra Cakes for nearly 3 weeks.
BTW: You know how you just watch someone's downward spiral? Sometimes it can be entertaining but there gets to be a point where its just pitiful.
P.S Wonders how this will turn out, not trying to be set up for more disappointment. Ya Digg?
I have a whole new respect for this man Lupe Fiasco. And I know ya'll might hate me, but look at this verse about the illuminati
Kill your own peoples, but fear Illuminatis and they ain't even real, or are they? But you ain't even know, cuz you partay too fuckin much, if you start to doubt they already in yo mind, and comin' out yo mouth Its not a trick, nigga, it's a trap Survival of the fit, is what they aiming at And niggas aint fit, fat as hell!
Lupe might know something we don't.
Anyways today's blog I'm addressing some of my least favorite things. I may get vulgar if so please excuse me. Shoes and clothes. But more so shoes.
Rich Central AKA Hell Hole High, there was a very big thing about Jordans. The New Mikes. You got people standing in lines outside shoe stores to get these shoes. WHICH AREN'T EVEN CUTE most of the time. Like there's unlikely and ugly color combination and just extra stuff that doesn't need to be there. But not only were people buying these expensive shoes but they had to buy a shirt to go with it, also expensive. And half these nighas did not even have jobs. Like nigha are you serious? Why is your parent even giving you that much money to "up your shoe game"? And why are you never in class??!! Too busy in the hallway showing off your new fit to go get educated. Now when college applications rolled around I BET there wasn't a section that said "How Many Pairs of Mikes Do You Currently Own?". What blew me even further out the water was the 2008 i believe yearbook that had the picture of someone's ridiculous closet. WE DO NOT CARE.
And then nighas wanna talk about someone who isn't wearing the new mikes. EXCUSE ME?! You stuntin on some shoes your PARENT paid for?! From age 16 to 18 I made my own money and bought EVERYTHING i ever needed or wanted. After that I gradually stopped buying stuff because college started and I didn't have a job. But you're cool because you have new shoes...that you didn't pay for. Yea OK!
One time i came from soccer practice, had took my cleats off because i was in the building and i had my "Gym" shoes on which were K-Swiss right. This boy said something slick and i was like EXCUSE ME?! Nigha do you not see im dirty right now?! I Clearly just came from practice, im supposed to wear clean mikes to soccer practice?! Bye!
Omg people be killing me when they put themselves on a pedestal. Trying to down someone for the clothes they're wearing because of the brand or because of their shoes...last time I checked K-Swiss were ranging from $40 to $50 so its not like they're cheap. Its actually a fiscally responsible decision that YO DUMBASS didn't make. And people don't even stop to think like "damn well maybe they're not well off, maybe they're poor" so now you making fun of someone whose poor. But that's fine. I can't wait til all these nighas FEEL it. Karma my sistah, my sistah.
This is part of the reason I hate people. Cuz they SWEAR they better than someone. I never consider myself above someone due to my financial means or material possessions. One day they gonna lose it all. And lose their whole sense of self.
P.S I hate shoes, Like if i could just wear socks all day I would be a very happy individual.
One day our generation, Is gonna rule the population So we keep on waiting, Waiting on the world to change --John Mayer
I legit get nervous when I think about our generation ruling the world. I want to be the change the world needs, but at the same time we can't change other people. The future is a scary domain for the mind to speculate and imagine about.
I love reading books about the demise of society, and films such as I Am Legend stimulate great thought about the what ifs. This year for HON 101 I read a book named Blindness by Jose Saramago where the whole city is struck by sudden blindness and the blind were quarantined in an asylum and social order crumbled from within, which in my eyes paralleled the the crumbling of society and government in modern times. It seemed to say either the people of the world were blind to the issues surrounding them or it commented on the ineptitude of perfectly fine people to maintain a world free of violence, crime, poverty and frivolous inappropriate behaviors.
If there was a disaster would people be able to put aside their selfishness and come together as one in order to survive? What is the true capacity for which we can care enough about others where our own desire for gain can be put aside? I wish I could have more faith in society, but i see everyday the cruelty and inconsideration people have, and i highly doubt social order would be maintained in wake of a tragedy.

#SummertimeMatteson. If someone wants to come on a rescue mission and save me it would be greatly appreciated.
In all honesty this has been the most boring summer of my life. Nothing compares to Lakeview 2006 Chippewa Ranch Camp. (BTW Whites should have won that year). Anyways...
Lets talk about people who insert their opinion when it's not asked for real quick. If you not saying something positive or agreeing with my statement don't make a comment or voice your opinion. I PROMISE I'll let you know when I want argument. But two things no one is ever allowed to argue with me about: 1. My feelings or 2. My faith/religion or lack there of.
Like I said show me a male I can trust and I will show you a unicorn.
Don't get me wrong I haven't given up on relationships or love. I'm just discouraged. However I'm enjoying my single life. More time to focus on myself and make me happy for once.
SN: 1 month and 9 days? until school starts back and I can educate myself again. I feel like my knowledge is seeping out of my ears.
Update: Today is July 19th, 2010 Therefore I have a month and a couple of weeks until school starts back. Degrassi Boiling Point tonight FTW. Had a surprisingly good weekend! Hung around males and remembered why you can't trust them. They're so..soo..sexually driven..and NOTORIOUS. Gosh.
Speaking of males I'm going to dedicate this blogs to the joys and woes of interracial dating.
I've been in the interracial dating game twice. First a Mexican boy and second a White boy. If you know me you know that I live and die and argue by the following belief: "Love knows no boundaries of gender or race". In this world I believe that Love is the strongest force. And the fact that I see so much hatred and abandonment of the idea and possibility of love, causes me to believe that this world is seeing the end of its time. BUT i won't discuss that here because I'm agnostic and consequently in no position to speak of the end of the world or God or anything. Next.
People underestimate the emotional stress of interracial dating. You can't go in public without side looks from strangers, in school you have ignorant peers (high school dating experience with Mexican boy), and then you have to deal with two different sets of parents. Its a lot to deal with. You can say "I don't care what anyone says" all you want but there's something that pains you about not being accepted or having your relationship respected.
Granted although I like for my other race male to have things in common with me, I personally do not go for the "ghetto" look. Sagging pants, talking "hood", because I don't look for that in black men so why would I want that to be transferred into a white male?? Exactly. And of course I know that interracial dating goes both ways, but you know how you get a little upset on the inside when you see a FINE STRAIGHT black man with a white girl? Something inside you hums like grrrr wtf!!!! That's just jealousy. It doesn't really have anything to do with the fact that she's white. Because if that same FINE STRAIGHT black man was with a black girl, you'd probably say "She ugly!" simply out of spite. I have to remember myself sometimes like I date non-black men! I can't judge a black man for dating a non-black female. That would make me a hypocrite. I try to not be hypocritical.
I look at homosexuality the same way as interracial dating. How you gonna tell someone who to love?! By not allowing Gay Marriage that's like me getting to the alter with my white fiance and the pastor saying "i can't marry you because this is too different". These struggles are the same. There are hateful words spoken, discrimination, violence. That's why everyone has to take a step back and wonder how you can condone one without condoning the other?

Update: MAN Im living for summer tv right now. Degrassi Boiling Point starts Monday, Secret Life is about to get good, and Pretty Little Liars is amazing. Nothing new on the home front. Job Interview on the 29th for Exam Proctor for CDM school. Next day BSU community service and hopefully some bottle service. *cough
Today I saw a movie called Kids. And it made me want to take an even more active role in educating people regarding sexual health. Not just college students. But youth. We have to get to the bottom of things. Why are children having sex at younger and younger ages? When I was that young the thought of a naked body repulsed me! Is it really truly the media that's fueling sexuality in the youngsters? Is that a trend that we can somehow cap out? Explain the complexities of sex in the way it relates to emotions and maturity. Is there something in the home causing males and females to reach out for sexual gratification and pleasure rather than picking up a hobby? And if this is to continue we must educate these children on safety, pregnancy and learning that they have a right to say NO! if feeling pressured. I'll admit im not a fan of possibly teaching proper condom usage to 12 year olds, but it seems a necessary measure to be taken. Maybe education now will lead to fewer babies having babies in the future.
Now the issue at DePaul. I CANNOT stand Sage Medical Group. YEA SAGE I DONT LIKE YALL! The doctors don't seem to want to be there and don't really provide with you with adequate care. Also STD testing and Pap Smears are not covered by the DePaul plan so if you don't have insurance and you don't know where to go. You're screwed. This is where DePaul needs to come in. Or me. Or whoever. SOMEONE. Why don't students know about the benefits of free clinics and other places they can go to receive care? Granted some might (such as Chicago residents) but out of state students may not. At state school like U of I they have on campus clinics that provide condoms. Why doesn't DePaul? Because of our Catholic principles. So DePaul would rather you not wrap up and have a baby you don't really want or a STI you surely don't want. But I somehow want to change this.
Here's my ideas for actively engaging the DePaul community in discussion:
1. Once a Year Movie showing: "She's Too Young" "Kids" or a documentary and any other movie regarding STD's. Followed by discussion of sexual health resources, warning of STD's their descriptions, dangers if untreated. Etc. Maybe a play or something fun to engage the audience. Chartwells should cater food.
2. Poster Contest: Best slogan for Pro-Condom poster. I don't know what the prize would be. Posters: Should be hung in dorms as reminders. Posters always catch my eye and I always read them. Its like having a safety warning on the wall. One of the first things students see before they get to their rooms.
3. Every First Monday of the Month Condoms should be handed out in front of the Student Center. If the man can stand outside and Call Obama Hitler...I can stand outside and hand out some damn condoms.
4. HIV Testing programs should continue but need to be advertised better.
If anything I really want to find a way to start educating the younger generations. And it feels like I only got 4 minutes to save the world.
Recently there have been many campaigns in place to stop the rise in Sexting. Don't know what sexting is?
Urban Dictionary: a term created by the media referring to sending sexually explicit text messages. the term is used by adults who are out of the loop, and not by the individuals actually sending the messages.
These text messages include sexual words and/or naked pictures. I'm not quite sure when the media caught on that this may be an issue but I'm glad they have. With the growing increase of younger and younger children receiving cell phones coupled with the media's sexual images and lyrics, a whole generation is indeed being corrupted. But the media isn't the only people to blame. Although with songs like this we can safely assume they should take some responsibility.
First of all. This song has a really cute beat. Sure to pull in a younger audience. Not to mention its heartthrob Trey Songz singing. HOWEVER! The message here is terrible, it clearly encourages sexting: "shawty just texted me said she wanna sex me, LOL smiley face" Stating: "Shawty sent a twitpic said come and get this".
Second. I am a frequent user of the Twitter site. I have never known it was possible to send a private twitpic. So what is this saying? Its almost a foreshadow. How can you be positively sure the person you send a naked picture to will keep it a secret? There's a really good Degrassi episode where Alli sends Johnny naked pictures to bring the spark back to their relationship,or more so to keep his attention. He then gets mad over a petty situation and sends her pictures to his friend.
Degrassi may be a fictional show but it holds some truth here. Males (or females) may get mad at their significant other and post their pictures online via Facebook or Twitter. Even if they have no intention to publicly post your photos, they may show them to your friends and either way your private photos have become not so private. It may not even be your significant others doing. You have to think about the long-term in these situations. A new girlfriend, jealous finds your pictures in his phone, gets mad he still has then and sends them to the net. There are so many dangers, and if's and failures that can come about from sending a picture that was only meant to be kept for a quick masturbation session.
Why do people send these pictures? They know these dangers...sometimes...but does that stop them?
Fact: It is illegal to possess nude pictures of an individual that is under the age of 18. INCLUDING YOURSELF. It is considered child pornography and is punishable by law.
Sexting can be attributed to pressure. The pressure to feel wanted or needed or loved. The common line "I miss you, I miss your body, but if I had something to look at when you're away" may seem sweet, but it has a devilish undertone. This is your boyfriend. He may be the love of your life. How could you say no? You have to learn how. This is the beginning of what can be a manipulative relationship. Maybe you'll reply "only this once..." but he's already gotten use to the fact that he can receive pictures from you whenever he may ask. Pictures can even be a quick fix to an argument. "I have something for you, to make you happy again".
Females need to realize that we are not made to satisfy anyone but ourselves. You are not obligated to send your boyfriend a picture to keep him interested. If it takes your body to keep him interested, he's not worth having. If he truly loves you, as he claims to, then he'll take no for an answer when you refuse to send pictures and not be angry. Maybe this started as something fun, but it won't be fun once you break-up and you have to wonder "Does he still have my pictures? What is he going to do with them?" You forever have to toe a Thin Line with him in order to insure he never gets angry enough to post your photos somewhere that could prevent you from getting a job or internship in the future.
Women love yourselves! Cherish your bodies, they are your temple. Don't let a man tell YOU what to with YOUR temple.
Day in the Life: Woke up, sat around listening to music, tweeted, facebooked, ate, napped, ate, watched Greek and The Best Years.
This fourth of July is extra boring. BUT next year I hope to be in the city still and will have 19 times more fun.
Hella black people talking about they don't celebrate this holiday. Lets weigh in. I understand that black people aren't "free" as people put it but i mean we're not shackled and picking cotton anymore either so lets be happy for that. Independence Day marks the day The Declaration of Independence was signed declaring us free from Great Britain. That's it. That's all. It is not Independent Race Day or nothing, it is an American Holiday. American. And we are all American. Clearly.
America has a lot more rights than many other countries. I mean I believe its messed up that gay marriage isn't allowed and homosexuals, women and minorities are discriminated against. But there are SO many far worse places. In some African countries open displays of homosexuality qualifies you for a death sentence. I learned this in LGBT Psychology this year. Women over in the countries like Iran have no rights or freedoms. Its rough.
Ok sure the people that signed the Declaration were slave owners but I mean, its our history, AMERICAN history. We're past that now, and once everyone starts moving past the fact that we were once oppressed we can start moving toward a more positive future. Sure we're held back but i really don't think we're held back by anyone else anymore than we hold ourselves back. Negative stereotypes are generally true lets be realistic and unless you're doing something to correct them there's no use in complaining. We still call one another "nigha" (i do too so don't trip).
If black people are gonna adopt this 'i dont celebrate this holiday' stance then we're never going to truly be apart of America like everyone so claims to desire. You can't complain about not being apart of something then turn around and try to be different. Just be proud of your heritage and history, take the holiday for whats it worth, BBQ with your family, go with friends to see fireworks or just go to work and get your time and a half.
P.S i wish i had some wine coolers or SOMETHING right now
That's Guster- Amsterdam. I'm happy that DePaul provided me with new music to listen to. FEST 2011 im going to be in the actual audience, and not in a U-Hall window.
Day in The Life: Got a strange mohawk with curls type hairstyle done to my hair. Ate spaghetti, ate spanish rice, slept, tweeted, facebooked, looked at the wall.
SO lets talk about how immature males can be. LIKE how you gonna sit up and tell someone you want them to be your girlfriend and when the goodies aren't be let out the jar so to speak, you're all of a sudden in a relationship the next day? WHERE DEY DO THAT AT.
Too many places.
I need males to grow up. ITS TIME. Its July 2010 you've been through a whole year of college and yet and still you're still a liar. You lie about what school you go to. You lie about your intentions, you lie to some other girl, you just continue to tell falsehoods. I'm confused. Is this still Rich Central High School? If you just want to engage in relations with a female and don't want her as your gf SAY THAT! There are plenty of goers out here nowadays where saying that simple statement "im just tryin to hit" will actually work for some chicks! Instead of lying and pissing off the wholesome females.
Lying Males are clearly the reason wholesome females lose their...wholesomeness.
And like males are also the ones lying about their sexuality every 5 minutes. Plenty females be like "oh im bi" and the worlds like ok great. BUT males will SWEAR they love they wife, or girlfriend and next thing i know, surfing BGC they got a profile! Lets just all be true to ourselves.
BTW: I been having some TERRIBLE sleep lately. Nightmares upon nightmares! Its scary. But I looked up what my dreams meant and i mean this is probably true:
Hospital • Hospitals - Some area of your life is in need of healing, either emotional or physical. Is it a relationship? Is it your own self esteem? Or is it a physical ailment? Your dream is telling you it is time to make things better.
SN: Today's horoscope reads
You may be on a life-long quest to find balance in your world. If this is true, then today can bring the birth of a new purpose, for the current imbalance may not be letting you rest. First you rush ahead into something new, yet you still struggle to let down your protective walls. Ultimate harmony may be elusive, but you'll feel better now if you simply moderate the extremes.
Today actually didn't bring birth to a new purpose. Or anything at all for that matter.
P.S I just wanna have a semi-drunk night, with relatively decent looking males, and tons of laughter.
I'm Kristin. Im Awesome. I am a Psychology major, Communications/Media and Women and Gender Studies Minors. Education is the pathway to success. My Blog; My thoughts, feelings, opinions, beliefs. If you don't like don't read. Love me, cuz I love you =)
